From Saturday 1 December until Saturday 22 December this year, Bracknell Town Centre will host its first ever traditional German Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt) in Charles Square. The market, whose stallholders come from throughout Germany, will be open every day (including Sundays) from 10.00am - 7.00pm and will sell a superb selection of unique German-made Christmas gifts & products. Amongst the extensive range on offer will he delicate, glass Christmas Tree decorations (produced by a live glassblower), bees-wax candles, hand-made wooden toys and even lace goods from Plauen in Saxony As an added extra to their usual shopping trip, Bracknell Town customers will be able to experience, at first hand, the delights of German gifts: and, to further enhance their visit, they will be able to taste the culinary delights of Germany by purchasing a Bratwurst with German mustard or a warming glass of Gluhwein ( mulled wine ) all whilst their youngsters marvel at an old-fashioned merry-go-round and the giant, illuminated Christmas Tree. Commercial Manager for Bracknell Regeneration Trust, Roger Hutchings, who has organised the event in conjunction with the German & Bavarian Event Management Company, comments: "We are delighted to welcome the German Christmas Market to Bracknell town Centre. With live entertainment at weekends, and several new stores including HMV and a superb Hammicks Bookstore, the Town Centre promises to be a hive of activity. We look forward to welcoming all of our visitors to what will be a most enjoyable shopping experience".
