He has acted as an external verifier for the CIPD Awarding Body NVQ competence-training schemes for three years and is recognised as an Investors in People adviser. He is a Director and Honorary Secretary of the Parkinsons Disease Society of the UK and has chaired of a patient and carers group supporting medical research into this neurological illness.
